Underground Mining Locomotive

Technical requirements for maintenance of narrow gauge electric locomotives usually involve many aspects, including mechanical, electrical, electronic and control knowledge. The following is an overview of the general technical requirements for the maintenance of narrow gauge electric locomotives.

1. Narrow Gauge Locomotive,mechanical part

(1) Electric Locomotive frame and components
The frame shall not have cracks or obvious deformation, the protruding or recessed depth of the side plates and top plates shall not exceed 20mm, and the length error of the two diagonals in the center of the axle box cutout shall not exceed 10mm. The rivets and bolts must not be loose anywhere, and the bolts of the box must not exceed the outer surface of the box.

(2) Meeting and connecting devices
There must be no serious damage to the car when it collides, the springs are not broken, the telescopic length of the collision head must not be less than 30mm, and there must be no sagging. The connection device must be reliable, and the wear of the pins and pin holes must not exceed 20% of the original size.

(3) Bearing box

1. The gap between the bearing box end and the wheel hub shall not be less than 2mm.

2. The total gap between the bearing box and the guide plate shall not be greater than 3mm along the driving direction and 7mm along the axle direction.

(4) Electric Locomotive wheelset

1. The remaining tread thickness of the tire (or wheel) shall not be less than 60% of the original thickness, without grooves.

2. The roundness tolerance of the wheel tread shall not exceed 0.3mm; the diameter difference of the same wheel set shall not exceed 1.5mm; the diameter difference of the front and rear wheel sets shall not exceed 3mm.

3. The rim height shall not exceed 30mm, and the rim wear shall not exceed 30% of the original thickness.

4. When turning and repairing wheel treads, their geometric dimensions should comply with the regulations of GB4695.

5. The axle shall not have cracks, the scratch depth shall not exceed 2.5mm, the straightness tolerance shall not exceed 0.2mm, and the journal wear shall not exceed 5% of the original diameter.

6. For a new wheel set, the wheel flange distance should be 11mm less than the track gauge, and the difference between the three measured wheel back distances should not exceed 1mm.

2. Electrical part of Underground Mining Locomotive

(1) Electric Locomotive DC motors and explosion-proof electrical equipment
When overhauling DC motors and explosion-proof electrical equipment, the relevant provisions on electrical equipment in Chapter 6 of this specification should be followed.

(2) Narrow Gauge Locomotive controller

1. The reversing and operating handles are flexible and accurate, the bolts and pins are complete and firm, and the locking device is reliable.

2. The arc suppression cover is complete and has no looseness.

3. Contacts, contact pieces and connecting wires should be tightened, the contact contact should not be less than 75% of its width, the final pressure should be (15~30)N, and the mutual misalignment of the contacts should not be greater than 2mm.

4. Contacts, contact pieces, connecting wires, cams, etc. must not be seriously burned. The remaining thickness of the contacts and contact pieces after repair and burnout shall not be less than 60% of the original thickness, and the broken wires of the connecting wire shall not exceed 10%.

5. All parts are well insulated, and the insulation resistance should be above 0.5MΩ.

6. For a locomotive with two controllers in the driver's cab on both sides, the electrical locking between the controllers is reliable and effective.

(3) Narrow Gauge Locomotive resistor

1. The resistor wiring is firm, the resistor pieces (ribbons, wires) must not be deformed or cracked, their mutual distance must not be less than 60% of the original distance, and the porcelain plate (tube) has no cracks.

2. The connecting piece (strip) of the resistance element must not be loose, broken or burned.
(4) Current collector

1. Moderate elasticity, flexible lifting and landing, and no groove when touching the skateboard.

2. The power supply lead cross-section complies with the regulations, the sheath is not cracked or aged, and the wire ends should be firmly connected to the wiring bolts using terminal blocks (or claws).

(5) Automatic switch

The parts of the automatic switch are complete and complete. The setting of the operating current value should meet the requirements and be sensitive and reliable.

(6) Wiring

There should be no joints in the middle of the wiring, the insulation layer (or sheath) should be good, and the insulation resistance should not be less than 0.5ΜΩ.

(7) Pin connectors and fuses

The latch connector and fuse are well plugged in, reliably latched, and have no burn marks. The material and rated current of the fuse melt should meet the requirements.

3. Narrow Gauge Locomotive test and commissioning

1. The no-load test should be no less than 1 hour. Check the following items during no-load test:

(1) Starts smoothly, operates normally, and has no abnormal noise or vibration.

(2) All parts are sealed without leakage.

(3) All parts move correctly and there is no jamming.

(4) The temperature of each part does not exceed the regulations.

2. The operating system and braking system should meet the following requirements during trial operation under normal load:

(1) The operating switches and interlocking devices are sensitive, correct and reliable; the operating devices are light and the signboard instructions are correct.

(2) The braking device and limiting device operate reliably. No abnormal vibration occurs during braking.

3. The safety protection device should be tested three times in a row to ensure sensitivity and reliability. If it fails once, it should be tested three more times. If the test fails again, it will be deemed unqualified and must be retested after inspection.
