During the operation of battery electric locomotive, it is necessary to ensure its work by discharging. But many people know little about it. If you operate illegally during discharge, it may cause damage to the locomotive. In order to prolong the life of the battery and improve the utilization rate of the battery, it is recommended that you read the following carefully!
Problems needing attention in the discharge process of battery electric locomotive:
1, Battery capacity decreases:
In addition to battery aging, over-discharge, active material reduction, plate detachment, quality problems, etc., the electrolyte density is too low, which is also the cause of the battery capacity reduction. In daily maintenance, the specific gravity of the electrolyte is often measured by a hydrometer. When the specific gravity is lower than 1.28, adjust the standard value with the multi-standard solution to ensure that the battery is charged with enough power to ensure the capacity of the narrow gauge locomotive battery.
2. Sparks are generated on the surface of batteries:
During the charging process of storage battery, sparks are generated between the surface of storage battery, usually at the edges and corners, and the plastic separator or steel plate, which is a kind of discharge phenomenon. The reason is the overflow of electrolyte, such as the rupture of battery cell and battery cover, the dripping of electrolyte during the injection, the filling of the battery is too full, and the cock is short or not tight when the locomotive is running. The original battery is formed between two points, resulting in potential difference, and sparks are generated through the discharge circuit. Clean water is needed to wash the electrolyte and keep the surface of the battery clean and dry. Maintain reasonable height of liquid level, higher than the top of the partition 2025 mm;narrow gauge locomotive complete and tighten the special exhaust plug before locomotive operation. If the battery case is broken, it must be treated or replaced.
3. Battery damage:
If the battery locomotive is damaged by a single battery, it is mostly caused by the short circuit of the positive and negative plates of the battery itself. If a regular number of batteries or even a whole set of power box are damaged, it is mostly caused by external causes, such as excessive external load, long-term overload traction, or even short circuit, overlapping short circuit with pole pole pole of unequal potential when the insulation of positive or negative leads is damaged, narrow gauge locomotive and short circuit of some batteries, etc., which will cause battery damage, we must pay full attention to it, and avoid over-circuit when locomotive is running. Load traction, carefully check the qualified insulation of electrode leads and cables, and add a set of insulating tubes; prevent battery from discharging at high current, and effectively avoid damage to the battery due to excessive current.
