The wheelset and axle box of a mining electric locomotive are formed by pressing two wheels on one axle. There are two types of wheels, one is a structure in which the wheel hub and the wheel core are hot-pressed together; the other is an integral wheel. The former has the advantage that when the tyre is worn to the limit, only the tyre is replaced without the entire wheel being scrapped.
