The electric locomotive is a kind of traction equipment for rail vehicle transportation. The power is to drive the wheels to rotate by using the traction motor, and to make the locomotive run on the track by virtue of the friction between the wheels and the rail surface. In this operation mode, its traction force is not only limited by the power of traction motor (or internal combustion engine), but also restricted by the friction between wheel and rail surface. There is a limit to the gradient that can be driven by locomotive transportation. The gradient of transportation track is generally 3 ‰, and the gradient of local part cannot exceed 30 ‰. According to the structure, they are divided into stringing electric locomotive and battery electric locomotive.
Working principle of stringing electric locomotive
During the working process of the trolley type underground mining locomotive, after the high-voltage alternating current is depressurized and rectified by the traction substation, the positive pole is connected to the overhead line and the negative pole is connected to the rail. The pantograph on the locomotive contacts with the overhead line, introduces the current into the vehicle, and then enters the traction motor through the air automatic switch, controller and resistance box to drive the motor. The motor drives the wheels through the transmission device, so as to drive the train. The current from the motor flows back to the substation through the track.
Working principle of battery electric locomotive
During the working process of battery electric locomotive, the direct current provided by the battery enters the motor through the explosion-proof bolt, controller and resistance box, and drives the motor to run. The motor drives the wheels through the transmission device, so as to drive the train.
Stringing electric locomotive
The electric locomotive of stringing type is that the current transmitted from the traction substation to the stringing enters the electric circuit and the electric locomotive of the electric locomotive through the current collector, and then returns to the substation through the track. In China, there are two kinds of DC voltage for underground power grid: 250V and 550V, and 550V and 750V for outdoor power grid.
Advantages: the trolley type electric locomotive has the advantages of simple structure, low cost, convenient maintenance, large transportation capacity, high speed, high power efficiency, low transportation cost and the most widely used.
Battery underground mining locomotive uses battery to supply electric energy. Generally, the battery is charged in the underground motor garage. When the battery pack on the electric locomotive is used to a certain extent, remove it and replace it with a charged one. Therefore, each electric locomotive must be equipped with 2-3 sets of batteries.
Advantages: no risk of sparking, suitable for use in mines with gas; no need for stringing, flexible use, suitable for small output, irregular roadway transportation system and roadway driving transportation.
