There are more than 160 existing mining equipment manufacturing enterprises, including more than 60 high-tech enterprises. In recent years, through the construction of strategic alliances for technological innovation of locomotive equipment at the provincial and municipal levels, the mining equipment cluster has undertaken more than 10 national-level scientific and technological research projects, and developed more than 20 key technologies and major products pioneered by the country or domestically. It has accumulatively authorized more than 1100 patents, established more than 20 national and provincial R & D service platforms, and more than 80 companies have established stable industry-university-research cooperation relations with many well-known universities in China. In 2014, the output value of the city's mining locomotive manufacturing industry reached 28.65 billion yuan, and the output value in 2015 is expected to reach more than 33 billion yuan.
