Since the speed control and reversing handles of the electric locomotive controller are mechanically locked, before operating the reversing handle, the speed control handle must be returned to the speed zero position to move the reversing handle, which can prevent misoperation.

The operation method of the electric locomotive brake is as follows: when the brake handwheel is rotated clockwise, the brake shoe is pressed against the wheel tread by the pull rod and lever to brake the wheel. When the brake handwheel is rotated counterclockwise, the brake shoe is released from the wheel tread through the pull rod and lever to release the brake.
