Periodic Inspection And Maintenance Of Electric Locomotive Wheel Sets

The wheel set is the foot of the electric locomotive. The operation of the electric locomotive in the underground depends on the role of the wheel set. Because of this, we should pay more attention to the inspection and maintenance of the electric locomotive wheel set.

During the use of electric locomotive, we should:

1. When checking the locomotive every day, knock the tyre to judge its tightness to the wheel center and the integrity of the tyre itself;

2. Check the narrow gauge locomotive wear of the tyre every day. If the depth of the defect formed on the surface of the tyre is greater than 3 mm and the degree of wear is greater than 5 mm, the wheel set must be removed and turned on the lathe. When the tyre is worn to a thickness of 25 mm, The tyre must be replaced with a new one. When turning the tyre (without disassembling the bearing box) the difference in diameter of the two rolling circles on the same wheel set must not be greater than 0.2 mm;

3. Steps to remove the narrow gauge locomotive wheel set:
A. Remove the upper and lower covers and the traction motor;
B. Remove the axle box cover;
C. Raise the frame and remove the wheelset:
D. Roll out the wheel set;
